The off-season (Nov. 1 to March 31) ticket price is 40 yuan per person. The following are the preferential policies for off-season tickets of the Palace Museum:

Free visit
Children under 1.2 meters tall can visit for free, but they need to be accompanied by a guardian.
Chinese citizens under the age of 18 (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents and foreigners with permanent residency) are free of charge, but reservations are required.
Retired cadres visit free of charge with their leave certificates.
The disabled can visit free of charge with their own disability certificates. Escorts do not enjoy free discounts and need to purchase tickets to visit.
On certain holidays (such as “March 8” Women’s Day, “June 1” Children’s Day, “August 1” Army Day, etc.), some people can enjoy free or half price discounts. The specific preferential policies are subject to the official announcement of the Palace Museum.
Half-price discount
Older people over 60 years old (including 60 years old) with the original valid ID card, can enjoy half price discount, that is, 20 yuan/person in off-season.
Holders of the city’s social security payment collection, with the original valid documents, can enjoy half price concessions.
Students over the age of 18, bachelor degree or below (excluding adult education), with student ID, school letter of introduction and other valid identity proof, can enjoy half price discount, that is, 20 yuan/person in off-season.

Ticket purchase and admission information
Book in advance
Tickets for the Palace Museum should be booked in advance through the official website of the Palace Museum or online tourism platforms cooperated with the official authorities. In the off-season, it is sometimes possible to purchase tickets on the same day, but to ensure smooth entry, advance booking is recommended.
After the reservation is successful, you must arrive at the Palace Museum according to the reservation time, and check in with the reservation information and valid ID card.
Entry time
The Palace Museum is open daily from 8:30 to 16:30 during the off-season (stop selling tickets at 15:30, stop admission at 15:40). Please arrange your trip properly to avoid missing the entry time.
Other notes
Treasure Hall and watch Hall are special exhibition areas in the Palace Museum, and tickets need to be purchased separately, and the ticket price is 10 yuan/person.
