Grand and Ceremonial Splendor

1. The Noblewoman (Formal Gown & Headdress)

This is the pinnacle of Ming Dynasty female nobility. This formal attire features the stunning ‘Fengguan’ (凤冠 – Phoenix Crown) and the ‘Xiapi’ (霞帔 – Ceremonial Stole), worn over ornate robes. The look is one of ultimate dignity, splendor, and is traditionally associated with high-ranking consorts or ceremonial occasions. It’s the perfect choice for a truly majestic portrait.

Refined Poetic & Grace

2. The Elegant Gentlewoman (Layered Robes)

Capture the most iconic “Hanfu” look of the Ming era. This style typically involves the ‘Ao Qun’ (袄裙) – a combination of a jacket (‘Ao’) and a skirt (‘Qun’), often layered with a beautiful ‘Pifeng’ (披风 – long cloak). This attire is favored for its scholarly, gentle, and artistic aesthetic, perfect for portraits in a garden or library setting.

Scholarly Refinement or Formidable Power

3. Prestige & Authority (Scholar & Imperial Guard)

For our male clients, choose your path of power in the Ming Dynasty. You can either embody the refined dignity of a Scholar (士人) or civil official, with elegant, flowing robes that reflect intelligence, or command respect as an Imperial Guard (锦衣卫) in the iconic ‘Feiyufu’ (飞鱼服). This formidable attire, known for its intricate “Flying Fish” patterns, was the uniform of the elite Jinyiwei and a high honor bestowed by the Emperor. This category is perfect for capturing looks of intelligence, high status, or powerful authority.
